Possible Causes
Defective ambient NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from housing, Wiring damage between sensor and PCB, Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing external sensor housings or control boards.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Locate ambient sensor: On many Indesit models, the ambient sensor is located behind a small grille on the front frame or at the rear near the condenser area.
- 2. Visual inspection: Remove the grille or cover and inspect the sensor capsule and wiring for damage or signs of water ingress.
- 3. Resistance test: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to expected NTC values for room temperature. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
- 4. Refit correctly: Ensure the new sensor is placed in the correct location, not touching hot components, and not buried in insulation.
When to call a technician: If the sensor and wiring are good but F07 remains, the main PCB may require replacement.
