Excessive frost buildup on food and walls in the freezer compartment.

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before adjusting doors.

Inspect door gasket:

• Check the entire perimeter of the freezer gasket for tears, gaps, or hardened sections.
• Clean the gasket and mating surfaces with warm soapy water to remove debris.

• Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes evenly and is not sagging. Adjust hinges if necessary according to the Insignia manual.
• Test seal: Close the door on a piece of paper and gently pull. You should feel resistance all around. Replace the Insignia freezer door gasket if it does not seal.
• Defrost excess frost: Manually defrost the freezer by unplugging and leaving the door open until frost melts. Use towels to catch water.
