Possible Causes
Ice maker turned off, Failed ice maker module, Clogged ice maker fill tube with ice, Faulty water inlet valve ice side
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off water if disconnecting lines.
Basic checks:
- Ensure the ice maker power switch or arm is in the ON position.
- Verify the freezer temperature is 0–5°F; warmer temperatures slow or stop ice production.
- Inspect fill tube: Check the plastic fill tube above the ice maker for ice blockage. Clear with warm water if frozen.
- Test ice maker: Use the test button (if present) to initiate a cycle. If it does not move, the module may be faulty.
- Check water valve: If the ice maker cycles but does not fill, the ice side of the dual water inlet valve may be bad. Replace the Insignia dual water inlet valve.
- Replace ice maker: If the module does not cycle at all, replace the Insignia ice maker assembly.
Note: Allow 24 hours after repair for full ice production to resume.
