Possible Causes

Dust-clogged condenser coils, Blocked ventilation around refrigerator, Failed condenser fan motor, High ambient room temperature

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning coils.

Clean condenser coils:

  • Pull the refrigerator away from the wall.
  • Remove the rear lower panel to access the condenser coils and fan.
  • Use a vacuum with a brush attachment and a coil brush to remove dust and pet hair from the coils and fan area.
  • Check condenser fan: Spin the fan by hand and ensure it runs when the compressor is on (after restoring power). Replace the Insignia condenser fan motor if it does not run or is noisy.
  • Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the sides, top, and back of the refrigerator per the user manual.

Note: After cleaning, allow 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize. If cooling is still poor, further diagnosis of the sealed system or controls may be needed.
