Possible Causes
Frozen water line in refrigerator door, Faulty dispenser micro-switch, Kinked water line to dispenser, Child lock or control lock enabled
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the water supply and unplug the refrigerator if accessing internal parts.
Check controls:
- Verify that the dispenser is not locked (child lock off) according to the user interface instructions.
- Inspect dispenser switch: Remove the dispenser panel and test the micro-switch as described in the E12 scenario. Replace if faulty.
- Check for frozen door line: If the freezer is very cold, the water line in the door may freeze. Open the door and gently warm the dispenser area with a hair dryer on low, moving constantly to avoid damage.
- Inspect water line: Check for kinks in the line from the valve to the door hinge and up the door.
Note: If the line repeatedly freezes, temperature settings or door insulation may need adjustment; consult a technician.
