Water filter usage time exceeded, Flow restriction due to clogged filter, Incorrect filter type installed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the water supply if the filter housing is damaged or leaking. Have towels ready for minor drips.
- Identify filter type: JennAir refrigerators commonly use EveryDrop filters (e.g., EDR2RXD1, EDR4RXD1). Check your existing filter label or user manual.
- Replace the filter: Turn the old filter counterclockwise or press the release button (depending on style) and pull it out. Remove protective caps from the new filter, insert, and lock into place.
- Purge air: Dispense and discard 2–4 gallons of water to remove air and carbon fines from the new filter.
- Reset the indicator: Press and hold the Filter Reset or Water Filter button for 3–5 seconds until the H2O icon or light resets.
- Check for leaks: Inspect around the filter housing for drips. If leaking, remove and reinstall the filter, ensuring it is fully seated. Replace the filter housing if it continues to leak.
