Possible Causes
Ice maker power switch off, Ice bin not seated, Ice level arm stuck, Failed ice maker module, Frozen fill tube
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the ice maker before removing it. If working near water lines, shut off the water supply valve.
- Verify ice maker is on: Check the ice maker power switch or on/off button. Turn it on if off.
- Check ice bin position: Ensure the ice bin is fully inserted and seated; some models will not make ice if the bin is out of place.
- Inspect ice level arm: Make sure the bail arm or optical sensor is not blocked by ice or packaging. Clear any obstructions.
- Check fill tube: Look for ice blocking the water fill tube above the ice maker. If frozen, gently thaw with a hair dryer on low, keeping it moving to avoid melting plastic.
- Module replacement: If the ice maker does not cycle at all with proper water supply and no obstructions, replace the ice maker assembly.
