Possible Causes

Voltage fluctuation, Control board software glitch, Loose wire harness at main control board, Faulty electronic control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Always disconnect power at the wall outlet or breaker before removing any panels.

  • Soft reset: Unplug the refrigerator or switch off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Restore power and see if the PE code clears.
  • Check outlet voltage: If you have a multimeter and are qualified to use it, verify that the outlet provides a stable 110–120 VAC. Do not attempt this if you are not comfortable working with live voltage.
  • Inspect power cord and plug: Look for burn marks, cuts, or loose fit in the outlet. A damaged cord or loose outlet can cause intermittent power errors.
  • Control board connections: With power disconnected, remove the rear access cover and visually inspect the main control board harness connectors. Reseat any loose connectors firmly.
  • When to call a technician: If the PE code returns immediately after a reset and connections are secure, the electronic control board is likely faulty and should be tested and replaced by a professional.
