Possible Causes
Recent household power outage, Tripped circuit breaker, Loose power cord connection, GFCI outlet tripped
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: You are working with a 120V appliance. Do not remove panels with power connected. If you need to move the refrigerator, get help to avoid tipping.
- Confirm power is stable: Check that other appliances and lights in the home are working normally. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Verify refrigerator power: Make sure the JennAir refrigerator is firmly plugged into a dedicated wall outlet (not an extension cord or power strip). Inspect the cord for damage.
- Acknowledge the PO code: On most JennAir models, press and hold the Alarm Reset or Measure Fill/Confirm button (or the button indicated in your user manual) for 3–5 seconds until the PO code clears.
- Check temperatures: Confirm that the refrigerator and freezer are cooling. It can take 24 hours to return to normal temperatures after a long outage. Avoid repeatedly opening the doors.
- Monitor for reoccurrence: If the PO code returns without an actual outage, there may be an issue with the control board or power supply. In that case, unplug the unit for 5 minutes to reset the electronics. If the problem persists, contact a qualified technician.
