Display shows SY CE; refrigerator may not respond to temperature changes or may not cool properly.

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing any control panels. Static discharge can damage electronic boards—ground yourself before touching connectors.

• Reset the controls: Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the breaker for 5–10 minutes. Restore power and check if the SY CE code returns.
• Inspect top/door UI connections: On many JennAir models, the user interface (UI) board is located in the dispenser or top control panel. Remove the panel carefully and check that all ribbon cables and harnesses are fully seated.
• Inspect main control board connections: Access the rear main control board compartment. Verify that the multi-pin connector going to the UI is firmly connected and free of corrosion.
• Look for damage: Check both boards for burn marks, swollen components, or water intrusion (especially near dispenser areas).
• Board replacement: If wiring is intact and the error persists, either the user interface board or the main control board is defective. Replacement typically requires programming or configuration and is best handled by a qualified technician.
