• 2. Test door switch: Locate the door switch plunger or magnetic reed switch. Press it manually and see if the interior light turns on/off (when briefly powered). If not, the switch may be bad.
• 3. Continuity test: Unplug the unit. Remove the switch from the liner (usually pries out). Disconnect wires and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the switch. Replace if it does not change state.
• 4. Inspect door harness: On some French-door models, door position is sensed via a harness in the hinge. Inspect for pinched or broken wires at the hinge area.
