Possible Causes
Frozen water line in refrigerator door, Failed dispenser micro switch, Faulty water dispenser actuator, Kinked water line to dispenser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water supply and unplug the refrigerator before accessing dispenser components.
Steps:
- 1. Check water at filter: Remove the water filter and briefly press the dispenser lever with a bypass plug (if available). If water flows, the line to the door may be frozen.
- 2. Thaw door line: Open the door and gently warm the dispenser area and door edge with a hair dryer on low, moving constantly. Do not overheat the plastic.
- 3. Inspect actuator and switch: Remove the dispenser front cover to access the lever and micro switch. Test the switch for continuity when pressed. Replace if faulty.
- 4. Check for kinks: Inspect the water line where it enters the door for kinks or pinches and correct as needed.
