Possible Causes
Loose or damaged communication harness, Corroded connectors at display or main board, Failed display PCB, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing control panels.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. If Er CO returns, proceed.
- Access display PCB: Remove the control panel cover (on the door or inside the refrigerator ceiling, depending on model). Carefully disconnect the ribbon cable or harness.
- Inspect connectors: Look for bent pins, corrosion, or loose plugs. Clean lightly with electronic contact cleaner if needed and reseat firmly.
- Check harness continuity: Using a multimeter, verify continuity of each wire between the display PCB and main PCB connectors. Replace the harness if any wire is open.
- Board replacement: If wiring is good, replace the display PCB first (most common). If the error persists, the main PCB may also need replacement.
Note: Handle PCBs by the edges and avoid static discharge by grounding yourself.
