High Temperature or Overheat Protection Error
Display shows E9 and the refrigerator may not cool properly or may shut down unexpectedly.

Possible Causes
Blocked condenser coils, Failed condenser fan motor, Ambient temperature too high, Control board sensing overheat condition
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning coils or working near the compressor.
Steps:
- Check installation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the refrigerator (typically at least 2 inches at the back and sides) for proper airflow.
- Clean condenser coils: Remove the rear lower access panel. Use a coil brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the condenser coils. Dirty coils cause overheating and poor cooling.
- Verify condenser fan operation: With power restored, observe whether the condenser fan runs when the compressor is on. If not, follow the condenser fan motor troubleshooting steps (see E7 scenario).
- Ambient temperature: Ensure the unit is not installed in a very hot environment (e.g., unventilated garage in summer) beyond its rated operating range.
- Reset: After cleaning and ensuring proper airflow, unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then restore power. Monitor for recurrence of E9.
If E9 persists: The main control board or internal temperature protection circuitry may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
