Possible Causes
Open or shorted fresh food thermistor, Damaged harness between thermistor and control, Faulty main control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing interior walls or control boards.
Steps:
- Locate and inspect the fresh food thermistor: Similar to E1, find the sensor on the refrigerator compartment wall. Check for damage or disconnection.
- Test resistance: Use a multimeter to verify the thermistor is within expected resistance range at room temperature. Replace if open/shorted.
- Check harness continuity: If possible, test continuity from the thermistor connector to the main control board connector. Repair or replace the harness if open.
- Replace control board if needed: If sensor and wiring are good, the main control board may be defective.
