Possible Causes
Thermistor reading below expected range, Sensor shorted, Control board misinterpretation, Actual compartment temperature extremely low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing sensors or boards.
Steps:
- Verify actual temperature: Place an appliance thermometer in the compartment to confirm if the temperature is truly too low or if the reading is erroneous.
- Check sensor placement: Ensure thermistors are properly mounted and not in direct contact with the evaporator or air outlets, which can cause false low readings.
- Inspect and test thermistors: Follow the thermistor testing steps (E1/E2). Replace any sensor that reads out of range.
- Control reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then restore power. If LO persists with correct temperatures and good sensors, the control board may be faulty.
