Possible Causes
Loose condenser fan shroud, Evaporator fan blade hitting ice, Refrigerator not level causing compressor vibration, Loose internal tubing or panels
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before touching fans or internal components.
Steps:
- Level the unit: Use a level on top of the refrigerator. Adjust front leveling legs so the unit is stable and slightly tilted back to help doors close.
- Check rear components: Remove the rear lower panel and ensure the condenser fan shroud and drain pan are secure. Tighten any loose screws.
- Inspect evaporator fan: Remove the freezer rear panel and check if the fan blade is hitting ice or wiring. Clear ice and reposition wires away from the blade.
- Secure tubing: Gently move refrigerant lines and listen for changes in noise. Use foam sleeves or clips to prevent lines from vibrating against the cabinet.
