  • Listen for sounds: If you hear a repeated click every few minutes from the back, the start device may be failing.
  • Access compressor: Remove the rear lower panel and locate the start device on the side of the compressor.
  • Inspect start device: Remove it and gently shake; if it rattles or shows burn marks, it is likely bad.
