Possible Causes

Water supply valve closed, Kinked or frozen water line (especially in door), Failed water inlet valve, Faulty dispenser switch or control

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any water lines. Unplug the refrigerator before accessing electrical components.

  • Check water supply: Ensure the household shutoff valve is fully open and the supply line is not kinked.
  • Test at filter: Remove the water filter and install the bypass plug (if provided). Try dispensing water again to rule out a clogged filter.
  • Check for frozen line: On French-door models, the water line in the door can freeze. Open the door and feel along the inner door surface for cold spots; leaving the door open for a while or using a hair dryer on low (carefully, at a distance) can thaw a frozen line.

If water still does not flow, the water inlet valve or dispenser switch/control may be faulty and require replacement.
