Possible Causes
Failed ice maker position sensor, Jammed ice maker mechanism, Broken ice maker harness in door, Faulty ice control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before working on the ice maker assembly.
Steps:
- Inspect ice maker: Remove the ice bucket and visually inspect the ice maker for jammed cubes, broken plastic parts, or ice buildup around the ejector arms.
- Clear jams: Gently remove any stuck ice with your hands. Do not use sharp tools that can damage the mold or arms.
- Check harness: Inspect the wiring harness from the ice maker to the door or cabinet for pinched or broken wires, especially at the door hinge area.
- Reset ice maker: Some Midea models have a reset button on the ice maker module. Press and hold according to the user manual to initiate a test cycle.
- Replace if faulty: If the ice maker does not move through a test cycle or the EA code persists, replace the complete Midea ice maker assembly.
- Test: Restore power, enable ice making, and allow several hours for ice production to resume.
