Check for obvious damage: Remove the rear lower panel and inspect the inverter module (if equipped) mounted near the compressor for burn marks or melted components.
Inspect wiring: Verify that the harness between the main control board and inverter is fully seated at both ends and not damaged.
Power reset: Leave the unit unplugged for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and listen for the compressor attempting to start.
Compressor test (advanced): With power disconnected, measure resistance between compressor terminals. Very high or zero readings may indicate a failed compressor.
Replace inverter or main PCB: If wiring is intact and compressor windings test normal, the inverter board or main control board may be defective. Replace with the correct Midea part.
