• Continuity tests: With the unit unplugged, test the heater and thermostat for continuity. Replace any open components.
• Check defrost sensor: Measure resistance of the defrost thermistor and compare to expected values. Replace if out of range.
• Evaluate control board: If all defrost components test good, the main control board may not be initiating defrost. Replacement of the PCB may be required.
• Reassemble and monitor: After replacing faulty parts, reassemble the freezer, restore power, and monitor for proper defrosting over several days.
