Possible Causes

Unit in showroom/demo mode, Misconfigured temperature settings, Sensor reading out of range, Control software glitch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: No internal work is required initially. Use the control panel only.

Steps:

  • Check for demo mode: Many Midea models have a showroom/demo mode that disables cooling. Consult the user manual for the button combination to exit demo mode (often holding specific buttons for several seconds).
  • Reset temperature settings: Set both refrigerator and freezer to recommended default temperatures (e.g., 4°C / 39°F for fridge, -18°C / 0°F for freezer).
  • Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and observe the display.
  • Monitor cooling: Allow 12–24 hours for temperatures to stabilize. If Lo persists and cooling is abnormal, a sensor or control fault may exist and require service.
