Refrigerator not cooling in fresh food compartment but freezer is cold; rear wall of fridge may show frost or condensation.

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing interior panels.

Steps:

• Check airflow: Place your hand near the air outlet vents in the fridge compartment while the compressor is running. Weak or no airflow indicates a damper or fan issue.
• Inspect damper area: The damper is usually located at the top or rear of the fresh food compartment. Remove the cover and check for ice or debris blocking the flap.
• Defrost blockage: If ice is present, defrost the area with a hair dryer on low, keeping it moving to avoid melting plastic.
• Check damper movement: With power restored, change the temperature setting and observe whether the damper motor moves. If it does not, the motor or control may be faulty.

Replace the air damper assembly if the flap is broken or the motor is inoperative.
