Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain hole, Ice plug in drain channel, Debris or food particles in drain tube, Drain heater (if fitted) not working
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before working inside the freezer.
Steps:
- Locate drain: Remove freezer drawers and rear panel to find the drain hole beneath the evaporator.
- Clear ice: Use warm (not boiling) water to melt any ice in the drain hole. A turkey baster or syringe can help flush the channel.
- Clean drain tube: From the rear of the fridge, locate the drain outlet above the compressor tray. Insert a flexible brush or pipe cleaner to clear debris.
- Check drain heater (if present): Some Neff models have a small heater near the drain. Test for continuity and replace if open.
- Reassemble: Once water flows freely into the drain pan, reassemble panels and monitor for leaks.
