Possible Causes
Defective main control PCB, Blown PCB fuse or varistor, Surge damage to power supply circuit, Loose power connector on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: The main PCB carries live mains voltage. Unplug the refrigerator before opening any control covers.
- Step 1 – Basic power check: Confirm the outlet has correct voltage by testing with another appliance. Check that the refrigerator plug and cord are not damaged.
- Step 2 – Access main PCB: On many Panasonic refrigerators, the main PCB is located at the rear behind a metal or plastic cover. Remove screws and gently open the cover.
- Step 3 – Visual inspection: Look for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or a blown onboard fuse. If the fuse is visibly blown, there is usually an underlying fault; simply replacing the fuse may not be sufficient.
- Step 4 – Connector check: Reseat all harness connectors to the PCB, ensuring they are fully latched. Look for signs of overheating at the compressor or fan connectors.
- Step 5 – Replacement: If there is clear PCB damage or H05 persists after reseating connectors and power reset, the main control PCB will likely need replacement. Transfer any jumper settings or wiring exactly as original. If you are not comfortable working around mains voltage, contact a qualified technician.
