Possible Causes
Defective ambient thermistor, Sensor dislodged from correct location, Broken sensor wiring, Main PCB sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing any external covers.
- Step 1 – Locate ambient sensor: On many Panasonic models, the ambient sensor is located behind a small grille on the cabinet front or rear, or near the control panel.
- Step 2 – Inspect sensor: Ensure the sensor is not covered by tape, dust, or insulation. It must be exposed to room air.
- Step 3 – Wiring check: Inspect the harness from the sensor to the main PCB for damage. Reseat connectors at both ends.
- Step 4 – Replace sensor: If the sensor is physically damaged or tests open/short with a multimeter, replace it with the correct Panasonic ambient thermistor.
