Possible Causes
Overheated inverter heat sink, Blocked ventilation around compressor area, Failing inverter PCB components, High ambient temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the compressor and inverter area.
- Step 1 – Improve ventilation: Ensure the refrigerator has proper clearance from walls and cabinets. Remove dust buildup from the rear and bottom areas.
- Step 2 – Clean inverter area: Remove the rear cover and gently blow or vacuum dust from the inverter PCB and heat sink near the compressor.
- Step 3 – Check condenser fan: Verify the condenser fan runs when the compressor is on. A failed fan can cause inverter overheating. Replace the fan motor if not operating.
- Step 4 – Allow cool-down: Leave the unit unplugged for 30 minutes to allow the inverter to cool, then reconnect. If H98 recurs quickly, the inverter PCB may be failing and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
