Excessive frost or ice buildup on freezer walls and around door opening

Possible Causes
Damaged or hardened freezer door gasket, Door not closing fully due to obstruction, Misaligned hinges, Warped door
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Avoid using sharp tools to remove ice; you can damage the liner.
- Step 1 – Inspect gasket: Close the door on a sheet of paper at several points. If the paper pulls out easily, the gasket is not sealing.
- Step 2 – Clean gasket: Wipe the gasket and mating surfaces with warm soapy water to remove grease and debris.
- Step 3 – Adjust door: Check that the unit is level and not leaning forward. Adjust front leveling legs so doors close by themselves from a partially open position.
- Step 4 – Warm and reshape gasket: Use a hair dryer on low to gently warm stiff gasket areas and reshape them to contact the cabinet evenly.
- Step 5 – Replace gasket: If the gasket is torn or permanently deformed, replace it with a Panasonic-specific freezer door gasket.
