Possible Causes

Water inlet valve to ice maker not opening, Frozen fill tube, Ice maker motor failure, Ice level sensor blocked

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off the ice maker and water supply before servicing.

  • Step 1 – Check ice maker switch: Ensure the ice maker is turned ON and the ice bucket is properly seated.
  • Step 2 – Inspect fill tube: Look for ice blocking the fill tube above the ice maker. Thaw gently with warm water or a hair dryer on low.
  • Step 3 – Test water supply: Activate the water dispenser. If dispenser works but ice maker does not fill, the ice maker side of the valve or wiring may be faulty.
  • Step 4 – Replace ice maker or valve: If the ice maker does not cycle during test mode, replace the ice maker assembly. If it cycles but does not fill, replace the water inlet valve.
