Refrigerator interior has a persistent bad odor even after cleaning

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before deep cleaning.

• Step 1 – Remove all food: Discard spoiled items and wipe all interior surfaces with a baking soda solution.
• Step 2 – Clean drain pan: Access and remove the drain pan near the compressor. Wash thoroughly with hot soapy water and disinfect.
• Step 3 – Flush drain: Pour a mild bleach solution down the interior drain hole to kill mold in the tube.
• Step 4 – Replace deodorizing filter: If your Panasonic model has a deodorizing or nanoe filter, replace it according to the manual.
• Step 5 – Air out: Leave doors open for several hours with the unit unplugged to ventilate.
