Possible Causes
Frozen water line in door, Faulty dispenser micro-switch, Broken dispenser lever, Child lock enabled
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off water if disconnecting lines.
- Step 1 – Check controls: Ensure dispenser is not locked via the control panel child lock function.
- Step 2 – Listen for valve: Press the dispenser lever and listen for a click or hum from the rear. If silent, the switch or control may be faulty.
- Step 3 – Inspect lever and switch: Remove the dispenser front cover and check the micro-switch operation. Replace if it does not click or show continuity when pressed.
- Step 4 – Frozen line: If the valve hums but no water flows, the line in the door may be frozen. Increase refrigerator temperature slightly and allow time to thaw.
