Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain tube, Frozen drain outlet, Cracked drain tray, Misaligned drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before tipping or moving it. Use caution when working around sharp metal edges.
- Step 1 – Identify leak source: Pull the unit forward and inspect underneath. Look for water around the drain pan near the compressor.
- Step 2 – Clean drain pan: Remove and clean the drain pan if it is overflowing with sludge or debris.
- Step 3 – Clear drain tube: Access the rear of the freezer compartment (inside) and locate the drain hole beneath the evaporator. Use warm water and a flexible plastic tube or pipe cleaner to flush the drain until water flows freely into the pan.
- Step 4 – Check for freezing: If the drain outlet at the back is frozen, gently thaw with warm water. Ensure the drain tube is properly seated in the pan.
- Step 5 – Reassemble and monitor: After clearing, reassemble panels and monitor for further leaks.
