Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working inside the ice room.
Step 1 – Reset and observe:
- Press and hold Power Freeze and Power Cool for 8–10 seconds.
- If 14E reappears, proceed to inspection.
Step 2 – Inspect the ice room:
- Remove the ice bucket and any shelves blocking access.
- Check for excessive frost or ice buildup in the ice room; if present, defrost the area with a hair dryer on low, keeping it moving.
- Inspect the ice room sensor and wiring harness for damage or loose connections.
Step 3 – Replace the ice room sensor (advanced):
- Unplug the refrigerator.
- Remove the ice maker cover and locate the sensor (often clipped to the ice room wall or duct).
- Disconnect the sensor from the harness and install a new Ice Room Sensor, routing the wires as originally installed.
Note: If the error persists after sensor replacement, the Main PCB may not be reading the sensor correctly and should be evaluated by a technician.
