How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Always unplug the refrigerator before removing panels or touching wiring.
Step 1 – Reset the code:
- Press and hold Power Freeze and Power Cool for 8–10 seconds.
- If 22E returns, proceed to physical inspection.
Step 2 – Access and inspect the fan:
- Empty the fresh food compartment and remove shelves.
- Remove the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator and fan.
- Check for frost buildup around the fan; defrost gently if needed.
- Ensure the fan blade is not broken and spins freely.
- Verify the fan connector is fully seated and wires are intact.
Step 3 – Replace the fan motor if faulty:
- Disconnect the Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor harness.
- Remove mounting screws or clips and swap in a new fan motor assembly.
- Reassemble the panel and restore power.
When to call a technician: If the fan tests good but does not receive voltage when the compressor is running, the Main PCB may need replacement.
