Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the rear or hinge area.
Step 1 – Check for frozen water line:
- Try dispensing water; if no water comes out but you hear the valve click, the line may be frozen.
- Open the refrigerator door and feel along the door water line area for cold spots.
Step 2 – Thaw the water line (if frozen):
- Turn off and unplug the refrigerator.
- Leave doors open and allow the line to thaw naturally, or use a hair dryer on low around the dispenser area, keeping it moving and away from plastic parts.
Step 3 – Inspect the water valve heater (if equipped):
- Remove the rear lower access panel.
- Locate the Water Inlet Valve and any attached heater or heater wiring.
- Check for damaged or disconnected wires.
Step 4 – Replace faulty components:
- If the heater is open or damaged, replace the Water Line Heater or the Water Inlet Valve Assembly as designed for your model.
Note: If 33E persists after thawing and component replacement, the Main PCB may not be powering the heater correctly and should be checked by a technician.
