Safety first: You will be working near low-voltage electronics; unplug the refrigerator before removing any covers.
Step 1 – Soft reset the Family Hub:
- Press and hold the Power button on the side of the screen (if available) or use the on-screen settings to restart.
- If the screen is frozen, turn off the refrigerator at the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power.
Step 2 – Check for firmware updates:
- If the screen becomes responsive, go to Settings > About and check for software updates.
- Install any available updates and reboot.
Step 3 – Inspect connections (advanced):
- Unplug the refrigerator.
- Remove the upper hinge cover and any trim around the LCD as per service manual.
- Check that the LVDS and power cables to the LCD Module are fully seated and undamaged.
When to call a technician: If 41E persists after resets and cable checks, the LCD Module or Main PCB may need replacement, which should be done by a qualified technician.
