Possible Causes

Defective refrigerator or freezer thermistor, Open or shorted sensor wiring, Sensor dislodged from mounting point, Main PCB sensor input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing sensors.

Step 1 – Identify which compartment is affected:

  • Check if the error is associated with the fridge or freezer (consult service manual or observe which section is not cooling correctly).

Step 2 – Locate the temperature sensor:

  • Refrigerator sensors are often behind small covers on the rear or side walls.
  • Freezer sensors may be clipped to the evaporator or behind the rear panel.

Step 3 – Inspect and test the sensor:

  • Remove the sensor cover and gently pull out the Thermistor.
  • Check for damaged wires or corrosion.
  • Disconnect and measure resistance with a multimeter; compare to Samsung specs.
  • Replace the sensor if out of range.

Step 4 – Reassemble and test:

  • Install the new sensor, secure it in the original location, and reassemble covers.
  • Restore power and verify that tE clears.

Note: If the error persists with a new sensor, the Main PCB may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
