Possible Causes
Normal condenser loop operation, Dirty condenser coils, Inadequate clearance around refrigerator, Condenser fan failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Step 1 – Check installation clearance:
- Ensure there is at least the manufacturer-recommended clearance at the sides, top, and back (typically 1–2 inches or more).
Step 2 – Clean condenser coils:
- Unplug the refrigerator.
- Remove the rear lower access panel.
- Use a soft brush and vacuum to clean dust from the Condenser Coils and Condenser Fan area.
Step 3 – Verify condenser fan operation:
- Restore power and listen for the fan running when the compressor is on.
- If the fan does not run, replace the Condenser Fan Motor.
Note: Slight warmth on door edges is normal, but excessive heat indicates poor cooling of the condenser system.
