Refrigerator has a strong musty or moldy odor inside.

Step 1 – Remove all food:

• Discard any spoiled or questionable items.

Step 2 – Deep clean interior:

• Unplug the refrigerator.
• Remove shelves and drawers.
• Wash all surfaces with a solution of baking soda and warm water (1–2 tablespoons per quart).
• Dry thoroughly.

Step 3 – Clean drain pan:

• Remove the rear lower access panel.
• Slide out the Drain Pan if removable and clean with warm soapy water; dry and reinstall.

Step 4 – Deodorize:

• Place an open box of baking soda or activated charcoal in both fridge and freezer.

Step 5 – Prevent recurrence:

• Cover strong-smelling foods and clean spills promptly.
