Possible Causes
Defective refrigerator or freezer thermistor, Door gasket not sealing, Warm air infiltration from misaligned doors, Main PCB temperature control fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Step 1 – Check door seals:
- Inspect all Door Gaskets for tears, gaps, or debris.
- Close a sheet of paper in the door and pull; if it slides out easily, the seal is weak in that area.
- Clean gaskets with warm soapy water and dry.
Step 2 – Check temperature settings:
- Set fridge to about 37°F (3°C) and freezer to 0°F (-18°C).
- Avoid setting to the coldest settings unless necessary.
Step 3 – Inspect sensors (advanced):
- Unplug the refrigerator.
- Locate and test the Refrigerator Thermistor and Freezer Thermistor for correct resistance.
- Replace any sensor that is out of specification.
Step 4 – Observe operation:
- After adjustments and any sensor replacement, allow 24 hours and see if the compressor cycles off periodically.
Note: If the unit still runs continuously with correct temperatures and good seals, the Main PCB may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
