Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water supply and unplug the refrigerator before working on water lines.
Step 1 – Check water filter:
- Replace the Water Filter if it is older than 6 months or water flow is weak.
Step 2 – Check for frozen dispenser line:
- Try dispensing water for 2–3 minutes; if no water comes out and you hear the valve click, the line may be frozen.
- Use a hair dryer on low around the dispenser area on the door interior and exterior to gently warm the line.
Step 3 – Inspect dispenser switch:
- Remove the dispenser cover (usually pries off carefully).
- Check the Dispenser Switch and wiring for damage.
Step 4 – Check water line:
- Inspect the water line from the bottom hinge up into the door for kinks.
Note: If thawing and filter replacement do not restore flow, a technician should test the Water Inlet Valve and dispenser circuitry.
