Possible Causes
Failed LED module, Open LED driver circuit on main PCB, Loose light harness connector, Shorted LED strip causing driver shutdown
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing light covers or accessing the control board.
Steps:
- Identify affected lights: Note which compartment lights are out or flickering (refrigerator, freezer, or both).
- Inspect LED modules: Remove the light lens covers and check for burnt or discolored LED boards. Wiggle the connectors gently to see if the light comes on.
- Test continuity: With power off, check continuity of the light harness from the LED module back to the main PCB.
- Replace faulty LED module: Install a Sharp-compatible LED light module or strip. Ensure it is firmly seated and the lens is reinstalled.
- Check PCB driver: If multiple modules are out and wiring is good, the LED driver circuit on the main control board may be defective and require board replacement.
Because LED circuits are low voltage but controlled by the main PCB, persistent E12 after module replacement usually points to a control board issue.
