Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before touching the compressor or wiring. Components may be hot.
Steps:
- Access the compressor area: Remove the rear lower cover to expose the compressor and associated wiring.
- Locate the thermal sensor: Some Sharp models use a clip-on temperature sensor or integrated overload protector on the compressor shell or terminals.
- Inspect connections: Ensure the sensor or overload device is firmly attached and its wires are not burnt or loose.
- Test continuity: With power off, measure continuity through the overload/thermal device. An open circuit when the compressor is cool may indicate a failed protector.
- Replace faulty sensor/overload: Install the correct Sharp-compatible compressor thermal protector or sensor.
If E15 persists with a good protector and wiring, the main control board may be misreading the sensor and should be checked by a technician.
