Possible Causes

Failed humidity sensor in crisper or fresh zone, Disconnected sensor harness, Sensor shorted by moisture, Faulty sensor input on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing drawer covers or panels.

Steps:

  • Locate the humidity sensor: In Sharp models with humidity-controlled drawers, the sensor is often integrated into the drawer cover or side wall.
  • Inspect for moisture: Remove the cover and check for water intrusion or condensation around the sensor. Dry the area thoroughly.
  • Check connections: Ensure the sensor connector is firmly seated and wires are intact.
  • Test the sensor: With power off, measure resistance across the sensor terminals (if service data is available). Replace if readings are out of specification.
  • Replace sensor module: Install a Sharp-compatible humidity sensor or drawer cover assembly as required.

If E18 continues, the main control board may not be interpreting the sensor correctly and may need replacement by a technician.
