Possible Causes

Stuck or shorted keypad button, Contaminated touch panel, Faulty UI logic circuit, Loose UI harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing the control panel.

Steps:

  • Clean the panel: Wipe the touch panel gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove any residue that might cause false touches. Dry thoroughly.
  • Check for stuck buttons: Press each button individually to feel for sticking or lack of travel.
  • Access the UI board: Remove the trim and screws to access the user interface PCB. Inspect for moisture, corrosion, or burnt components.
  • Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the UI harness to ensure a solid connection.
  • Replace UI board if needed: If E19 persists and buttons remain unresponsive or erratic, replace the Sharp-compatible UI control board.

If a new UI does not resolve E19, the main control board may be faulty and should be serviced by a professional.
