Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before inspecting hinge wiring.

Steps:

1. Inspect hinge covers: Remove plastic covers at the top and/or bottom door hinges. Look for visible wiring harnesses.
2. Check for damage: Flex the harness gently while looking for cracked insulation or broken conductors. Pay attention to the bend points where the door moves.
3. Test continuity: If you have a multimeter, test continuity of suspect wires from one connector to the other. Any open circuit indicates a broken wire.
4. Repair or replace harness: Minor damage can sometimes be repaired with solder and heat-shrink tubing, but Siemens generally recommends replacing the entire door harness for reliability.
5. Reassemble and test: Refit hinge covers, restore power, and test dispenser and door electronics. Confirm that E13 is cleared.

Note: Door harness replacement may require partial door disassembly; follow Siemens service instructions for your exact model.
