Display shows E15 and the refrigerator may shut down or show erratic behaviour after a power event.

Safety first: Always unplug the appliance before removing covers. Do not attempt live voltage measurements unless you are qualified.

E15 indicates that the control has detected an abnormal power condition.

• Step 1 – Check outlet: Plug another appliance into the same outlet to confirm stable power. Avoid using multi-way adaptors or long extension leads.
• Step 2 – Inspect mains cord: Check the SMEG refrigerator's power cord for cuts, burns, or loose plug pins. Replace the cord if damaged.
• Step 3 – Power reset: Unplug for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect directly to a wall outlet.
• Step 4 – Internal inspection: If E15 persists, the internal power supply section of the main PCB may be damaged. Look for burnt components or swollen capacitors on the board.
• Step 5 – Professional repair: Power supply repairs involve mains voltages and should be carried out by an authorised technician, usually by replacing the entire PCB.
