Possible Causes
Blown LED module or bulb, Faulty door switch, Loose light connector, Failed light driver on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before replacing lamps or accessing switches.
- Step 1 – Check settings: Ensure any "Sabbath" or energy-saving mode that disables lights is not active.
- Step 2 – Test door switch: Press the door switch by hand; if the light does not flicker or respond, the switch or lamp may be faulty.
- Step 3 – Replace lamp: On models with replaceable bulbs, fit a new bulb of the correct type and wattage. For LED modules, replace the entire module with a SMEG part.
- Step 4 – Replace switch: If the lamp is good but does not turn on, replace the door switch or reed sensor.
- Step 5 – PCB issue: If neither lamp nor switch replacement restores light, the light driver on the main PCB may be faulty and requires professional service.
