• Visually inspect the inverter board for burn marks or bulging components.
• Verify the DC supply from the main board to the inverter (requires live testing; recommended for technicians only).

When to call a professional: If the compressor is drawing locked-rotor current, is extremely hot, or E5 persists after replacing the start device/inverter, the compressor or main control may be defective. Sealed system work should be done by a licensed technician.
